MIMOHAUS is a Philadelphia-based team focused on creating compelling design solutions at the intersection of human behavior, building technology and the environment. Our work includes residential, commercial and institutional spaces in the greater Philadelphia region.

Each project is unique. With each, we begin design by listening to the specific needs of our clients. We pride ourselves on an iterative design process based on extensive analysis of site context, building program, construction technology and human experience. MIMOHAUS also has a strong record of partnering with highly respected consultants in development, engineering and construction. This has enabled MIMOHAUS to successfully deliver larger and more complex projects.

To MIMOHAUS, there are no “ordinary” problems and “conventional” solutions. We pledge not to walk into a project thinking we already know the answer. We start with a blank slate and embrace the physical, cultural and fiscal contexts as forces that shape out design. We allow a vision to arise naturally as we engage the client, the users and the builders. In this process, we aim to tap the full potential that is inherent within each project, clarify its unique identity, and satisfy the demand particular to each client.

We regard every design challenge as a condition already rich in possibilities. As we intervene through carefully considered acts of making, we find opportunities to bring into focus that which is unseen, creating opportunities for invention, transformation and elevation.
